The face of Hate

Fred Phelps.

The leader of the clannish, 'family only' Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas demonstrates his very warped beliefs in more ways than simply protesting at the funerals of fallen American troops. This man sends his 71-member, family flock out to inflict pain and injury, mental duress on the grieving families and friends with vulgar, shameful signs claiming that "G-D hates Fags", "G-D is punishing You, America for Homosexuality", "Thank G-d for dead soldiers," "You’re going to hell".

His clans' abuse has, in the past, been deflected or mostly hidden by some of the most honorable men and women, Bikers; but now, the United States may be the obstacle between this filthy bunch and the bereaved.

This man's vicious self hatred and loathing has spread from his kitchen pulpit to the very image of his face. Phelps is the Dorian Grey painting; the ugliness of his mind has provided a mask he must wear, as warning to the rest of us all, what hatred in the mind can do.
As contrast, think of the faces of the Rev. Billy Graham, or the late Rev. Jerry Falwell, at their beaming countenances, signposts to us all, again, that within them, Our Lord resides.

The other pic here is of that kook preacher who led his flock into a cave, where they died waiting for the Second coming, according to their 'leader'.
From the movie, "Poltergeist".

Separated at birth? Appears so....

From the Kansas City Star newspaper, today:
After seven days, Maryland jurors smote the Westboro Baptist Church and its leaders Wednesday, awarding a grieving father nearly $11 million after anti-gay protests disturbed his Marine son’s funeral.

The hero's father, Albert Snyder of York, Pa., sobbed when the verdict was read in U.S. District Court. Members of the Topeka church listened with tight-lipped smiles to the findings that they had invaded Snyder’s privacy with intent to inflict emotional distress.

Confident of his appeal, the Rev. Fred Phelps Sr. said: "Oh, it will take about five minutes to get that thing reversed."

Jonathan Phelps, son of Fred Phelps Sr., said the outcome of the trial would have no effect on their brand of proselytizing, but would just bring more publicity.

"Absolutely," Phelps-Roper agreed. "Don’t you understand this was an act in futility?"

Monday the church faxed out fliers that they would picket the Friday funeral of a Norton, Kan., soldier killed in a Humvee rollover at Fort Riley.

The flier declared: "Thank G-d for Renegade Humvees" and "G-d Himself Has Now Become America’s Terrorist, Killing and Maiming American Troops … With Their Own War Toys."

The Local Malcontent doesn't think so, Fred-- I trust this verdict will open up the Red Sea, the Great Flood of more, similar court proceedings against your ilk, in every state you enter. Keeping you and your children, your family so busy in the courts instead of near cemeteries where our nation's finest are laid to rest.
