Carrot or Stick? Carrot? or Stick? Carrot!

Happy New Year, Congressman? Yes. Yes it has been!

WASHINGTON (AP) — Fortunately for members of Congress, their pay isn't tied to their approval ratings. Lawmakers in 2008 will receive salaries of $169,300, a boost of $4,100 over the pay they have had to eek by with since January 2006.

Democrats, newly elected to the majority, had vowed to block an increase in their own paychecks until Congress raised the minimum wage.

Nice part-time salary, dudes!

Hey Mal, I just saw you over at daves place.

Oklahoma politicians may not be able to get much done during the day, but raising their own salaries is worth staying late into the night for.

From what I've seen so far, now that we've elected a Republican majority they decided to all act like Democrats.

Hi, Red! Yeah, I am still trembling with quiet rage, dumbfounded by Lefty's post titled
"Obama, the Liberal Reagan".

I may pen an inspired slap-that-right-down thingy tonight; or Friday.

On this matter, I suggest we enact a commission pay basis for Congress.
