Two Wrongs

Thanksgiving was just great for most of us. But for at least one man in the Buffalo Valley, the stress was too great, the pressure bearable no longer.
The fellow will remain unnamed on this blog, but most folks around here know who I mean, because he has never been a stranger to controversy. He was never special- and that was the problem,
causing him to be an angry man.
Perhaps part of his anger was that he shared the same name identically with a wealthy, famous, beloved American.

This guy was fired from the Talihina police force a week ago, for breaking into, and robbing a vacation cabin, his actions caught on a security cam. That was the final straw for the chief, who kept this fellow on the force despite numerous complaints about bullying and intimidation. His girlfriend regularly got away with shoplifting, supposedly, because of his authority, his snarling demeanor.

He thought he had to be special, had to be noteworthy. But his life got in a downward spiral and when he dramatically committed suicide Thanksgiving morning, he finally made the headlines. This guy went to the Oklahoma Veteran's Center, outside Talihina, where his girlfriend worked as a nurse assistant, armed.
Going to the nurses' station where she worked, he pulled her outside to his vehicle. Witnesses and security both say that there was a heated argument within. She exited. He put the gun's barrel into his mouth and pulled the trigger.

Sounds like the sort of person who was headed for a bad end; there are some like that who seem to take a wrong path, and won't get off from it no matter how many forks there are in it.
I guess the only thing we can be thankful for is that he didn't do like some people do, and shoot other people before shooting himself.

What a sad story! I am glad he didn't hurt his girlfriend or anyone at her place of work!

His was a sad and unhappy life, it appeared on the surface and in his eyes. But the anger he held inside from whatever source was never squelched, often pouring out to everyone around him.

I wish I could say differently, but he won't be missed.

Such a sad end to a sad life. The sad truth is that there are some folks who just cannot be helped no matter what.
