Honored To Be Buttered Up

Today I agreed to be part of our best man's, and my best friend Marty's Choctaw Grass Dance troupe, again this year in Oklahoma City's Red Earth Festival, the weekend of June 5-7, 2009.

Are you one of the dancers in this video?
I know a lot of Anglos find chanting and drums to be nerve wracking. I honestly find it to be quite peaceful. The Ye'kwanas drummed and danced quite often all night long and I learned to sleep by it.

JMOM.

Me, both Leticia and I see my back and right side dancing, at the 0:45-49 mark; wearing black, green feathers(harvest) up top, and stumbling around in upper right.
On the other hand, a great image of Marty is seen at the 2:20-26 minute mark, as he should be.

Leticia promises to take lots of pictures already, this year...

also, JMom, if you like the drumming, check out AIROS, 'American Indian Radio online, for almost 24-hour PowWow drumming, chanting.

It's what I like to listen to, Sunday afternoons~
