Red California??

The L.A. Times has county-by-county coverage of the 6 tax related referendums, all of which went down in flames yesterday. http://projects.latimes.com/elections/2009-05-19/california-propositions/results/map/
(Crud. That link won't work, no matter what shortcut I try. Go to the L.A. Times website, and search, I guess)

It's wonderful to see big ole' California red again- it's a hopeful thing. But it won't last.

What California voters may have done by their overwhelming "NO!" instead is throw thieir budget burden onto the rest of us in the United States. Since it appears California state legislators never have met a budget item they turned down, there is little reason to expect that they will now suddenly, either.

I see where news sites are hailing yesterday's results as a tax revolt, and expecting the Tea Parties to see greater numbers of attendants next weekend, Memorial Day and again on Independence Day there.
Well, that is a good thing, but only if their message is heard by those who write that state's budget bills.

The legislature in Sacramento only knows one tune: Tax more. Spend more.

What is much more likely to happen friends, is "Bailout Time", for the golden-plated state.
Who has the (XL) ear of Controversial leader Barry Huss Obama?
Maxine Waters, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer, Henry Waxman, the two Sanchez sisters,
and the big wimp, Arnold Swarzeneggar.

This type of emergency is precisely what Barry Huss Obama craves, to further feed his 'Messiah' ego: Spreading the wealth of a whole nation, to save a state "too large to fail".

If Obama can give $900,000 to the Palistinians, billions to banks and to the auto industry, how much more important can California be, in order to keep it in the Democrats' bottomless hip pocket?

California might need to rethink their offshore drilling ban.

Thanks, Mike- while you are quite correct, you also remind me that I left off 'Barbara Striesand' on that Lib. list.

And all Hollywood.

That link worked for me.

Oh you can be sure that the Dems will make sure that the rest of us have to support California.

I have said it before and it bears repeating, California is like a huge bowl of granola,WHAT AIN'T FRUITS AND NUTS ARE FLAKES!

OK, here's a really, REALLY scary thought-

What if, as he did with GM, Zerobama gives California to the state employees Union?

(*which BTW, I am NOT a member of)
