Afloat in the Sea of Astonishment

It's been quite a long time between visits, my friends, and
for that, I do apologize; I really enjoy time spent with you.

YES, it is true, Leticia and I were able to legally adopt Dillon into our family
(where he always wuz, anyway), this spring. The adoption became official when all the paperwork was finished in Latimer County and in Oklahoma City on June 11th.

I want to scream, to sing, to shout it out, to bust out of my skin in excitement, but there's still some work to do.

I Have A Son~! We Have A Son~!

This is/was the main reason for my absence from The Local Malcontent bloggie this year,
(needing to disassociate ourselves from you Conservatives, online and all....);
the other reason I needed to be away was because of my mother-in-law, Lois' death last September. That affects my Leticia far more than she ever lets on.

It's been a whirlwind, a tempest, of a year since last June 19, 2009;
when such immaterial matters as America's economy and
Zer0bama's uselessness seemed important to me.
Now, I understand what really matters in life~~ not politics, not baseball games, not crap in the media,

I, We, Us R supremely, sublimely, uncommonly happy at this moment in 2010;
poor as dirt again, but happy.
Hunting squirrels and rabbits, fishing for cats, bass and crappie, gardening, sweating quarts, but ever so Happy.

Seeing my wife and our son behave together is just astonishing to me: Leti has a genteel-ness toward Dillon, that I'd never witnessed before in her. And Dill, he's suddenly obedient to a degree I'd never seen in him before.

One of the first things which we did as father and son, was to enroll him into the Boy Scouts of America- my chest and my heart can't get much more swelled up....
I am afloat, swirling in the Astonishment Sea.

Who would have thought that during the terror reign of Zer0bama, when everything else is going to Hell in America, such a placid, serene place could exist~??

Good news is always a blessing.
Thanks for pinging me. I'm happy to see you posting again. Congratulations on your adoption. It must have been a tough time to settle things out, and I'm very happy to hear everything worked out for the best.

Our deepest sympathy to Leticia. Her mom's in a better place.

Me ke aloha pumehana (with warmest aloha),

Ron, my prayers are with Leti in her struggle. They are also with you all for your happiness now that your family is complete.

I am glad for your happiness, but please don't give up the fight against Obama and all leftist liberals. Now that you have a son, it is more important then ever to keep up the fight against the evil that has taken over America, because Dillon's future depends on it.

God Bless

Sweetie, as the parent of an adopted child, I can well understand your feelings! When I saw Little Critter born, and held him that first time, I just knew my heart could never hold any more joy. I was wrong. Each day, he fills it more and more with a much better understanding of all those things I was taught about Papa growing up. I now know better the pain in Papa's heart when I do the wrong things, and the joy in His heart when I do the right things. And I understand better how He could love us enough to send His Son to die for us. Adoption is a blessing of untold proportions.

As for Leti, Honey Girl, I'm so sorry for your pain. I know the hole left in your heart, Sweetie and am praying daily that Papa will fill that hole with His love and His comfort. Perhaps that's why Dillon is help fill that hole with his love. A child's love is a powerful thing!!! I am SO happy for all three of you...and rejoice with you. Now you'll have an extra anniversary to remember....June 11th. The day your family was completed. Our extra anniversary is July 29th...We always do something special to remind us how loved we are and how Papa blessed us with each other.
Dillon, sweet boy, you have the best set of parents (outside of Dodi and I of course!) you could imagine. Listen to them, they'll always teach you right and help you be the wonderful, amazing young man you were meant to be. I look forward to reading more about you in years to come. Perhaps you'll be the first Native American President of this country! But if not, I know you'll be an upstanding, G-d fearing man who will always do the right things. I'm proud of you and happy for you, kiddo.
Enjoy yourselves, and know there's folks in Texas praying for you. Shalom.

Congratulations, my prayers are with you and yours.

You're right, family means everything.

As for B.O. & Co., who really cares? In a few years they'll be yesterday's news, suitable only for lining a bird cage.

Thanks, thank you, thank You all.
Our joy as a threesome family can only be measured in lightyears or some other gigantic number.

I promise, The Local Malcontent will be back on a regular basis very soon, as well as visiting your own bloggies regularly~~!
