HOW SWEET IT IS,
WHAT A GREAT GAME, T'KNIGHT

OKLAHOMA WINS THE 80th SUGAR BOWL GAME
IN NEW ORLEANS,
BEATING ALABAMA'S CRIMSON TIDE, 45-31.

THE SOONERS ENTERED THE GAME AS 17- POINT UNDERDOGS AGAINST THE TWO-TIME NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, 'BAMA.

OU FRESHMAN QUARTERBACK TREVOR KNIGHT SETS BOTH SUGAR BOWL

AND OU RECORDS BY PASSING FOR 4 TOUCHDOWNS IN THE CONTEST.

IN THE FIRST HALF, IT WAS THE STUNNING PLAY

BY KNIGHT AND HIS OFFENSE, WHO SCORED 17 UNANSWERED  POINTS TO LEAD AT HALFTIME, 31-17.

T.KNIGHT, THE GAME'S MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, COMPLETED 32 OF 44 PASSES FOR 348 YARDS & FOUR TOUCHDOWNS WITH ONE INTERCEPTION.

It’s awesome,’’ said Knight, who made only his fifth career start and had passed for only 471 yards in seven games played this season. “Just a dream come true. What a way to go out for our seniors. All the glory to God. Just knowing my Lord Jesus Christ had my back.’’

OU quarterback T.Knight, celebrating Tonight.

IN THE SECOND HALF, IT WAS THE SOONER DEFENSE WHICH HELD BACK THE TIDE, SACKING QB McCARRON EITHER SIX OR SEVEN TIMES, AND FORCING A FUMBLE WITH 0:56 SECONDS LEFT, WHICH WAS RUN BACK FOR THE LAST TOUCHDOWN, SEALING THE DEAL,
DEALING THE SEAL, 45-31.

OKLAHOMA'S THIRD CONSECUTIVE WIN OVER ALABAMA, DATING BACK TO 1971, & 3-1-1 OVERALL VERSUS
THE CRIMSON TIDE.  THEIR ONLY WIN VS OKLAHOMA,
WAS IN THE JANUARY 1, 1962 ORANGE BOWL GAME.

80th? NewOrleansLa? Sounds like a sweet time and place to reference NOLA, a cheerful jazz-rag, 99 yrs old this yearby Felix Arndt to me

Sweeeeet.

We watched it too, because (A) everyone in the SEC who isn't a Bama fan wants to see Bama lose, and (B) Wife of Slog attended OU for a couple of years in the late '80s.

Sweeeeet.

I'm just going to keep saying that for a few days. Heh.

Sweeeeet.

Same way here, brother- Okies can't stand Nebraska to this day, we sure wanted Georgia to whip the Huskers, for no other reason than 'pride'.
there's the whole "Bo Pelini" thingy too.

On Twitter a few days ago I told Larry the Cable Guy (a Nebraska alum) never to root for Alabama. I don't think it worked that night.

If he rooted for 'Bama he got what he deserved.

Shoot, no wonder he won't do any shows in Oklahoma.
