It's not Funny.  
Two teenagers lost their arms in shark attacks
 in North Carolina over the weekend.

It's serious, in fact.  Sharks inhabit the shallow waters off North Carolina!
A 12-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy received life-threatening injuries after being bitten by sharks in Oak Island Sunday evening.  

The 12-year-old girl from Asheboro, NC was severely injured in the first incident. Several agencies including Oak Island Police and Fire, St. James Fire, Brunswick EMS and the Air Link Helicopter responded to the scene. The victim was airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center,  The girl's left arm was amputated below the elbow. She also suffered tissue trauma to her her left leg, according to officials at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. 
A 16-year-old male from Winston Salem, NC lost an arm after being bitten by a shark. Officials say he was also approximately 20 yards from the shore in waist deep water.
The male victim was also airlifted to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and his arm was amputated below the shoulder, according to hospitals officials.

"Every agency has mobilized its resources to address the situation and our thoughts and prayers are with the families at this time," said Oak island Town Manager Tim Holloman.
